Position: Senior Underwriting Officer / Supervisor
Ultimate Insurance Broker is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriting Officer or Supervisor to support underwriting operations and provide risk advisory services. The role involves evaluating insurance risks, reviewing policy proposals, negotiating coverage terms, and supervising underwriting staff.
The successful candidate will also contribute to portfolio performance monitoring and ensure compliance with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed risk analysis and evaluate client exposures to determine appropriate insurance coverage
- Review and underwrite insurance policies according to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Negotiate with insurance companies to secure competitive policy terms, conditions, and premiums
- Provide professional risk advisory services and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
- Review insurance proposals and ensure accurate preparation and issuance of policies
- Manage insurance policy renewals and advise clients on coverage adjustments when required
- Maintain strong working relationships with insurance companies to facilitate efficient policy placement
- Supervise underwriting staff and provide technical guidance on underwriting decisions
- Ensure proper maintenance of underwriting documentation, policy records, and compliance reports
- Analyze underwriting portfolio performance and recommend improvements to risk selection and pricing strategies
- Support claims review processes when underwriting expertise is required for complex cases
- Prepare underwriting reports and provide recommendations to management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field from a recognized university
- Minimum five years of experience as an Underwriting Officer in the insurance sector
- At least two years of experience in a Senior Underwriting Officer or supervisory underwriting role
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of underwriting procedures
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
