Role Overview
We are seeking a Operation Management Officer to oversee shipment operations, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure smooth, timely, and compliant logistics services. The successful candidate will provide daily updates, manage documentation, and maintain operational standards according to FIDI guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields
- Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in household goods logistics, directly or indirectly
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of contract management and operations management best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative management style
- High professional ethical standards and ability to operate in a diverse, fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and follow up all shipments (import/export) with customs agents, shipping lines, airlines, and transporters
- Ensure timely collection of packing lists, weight certificates, and other shipping documentation
- Provide daily shipment updates to clients, agents, and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate customs clearance in Ethiopia and Djibouti
- Review, approve, and share shipping documents including AWBs, BLs, and invoices
- Maintain organized operation files in compliance with company and FIDI standards
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development units on missing documentation
- Monitor financial aspects such as port fees, bonded storage, and container demurrage
- Generate reports and updates for Operations Head and Director
- Ensure timely return of empty containers
- Maintain professional and customer-focused communication with all stakeholders
- Perform other operational duties as assigned by the Operations Head or Manager
