Save The Children is seeking a qualified and motivated Nutrition Assistant to support the implementation of OTP, TSFP, and SC/TFU programs in Dolo Bay Woreda. The role focuses on technical quality implementation, clinical care, supervision, and training of health and nutrition staff.

Staff Reporting to Post: None

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and facilitate implementation of OTP, TSFP, and SC/TFU activities
  • Prepare weekly movement plans for outreach and service delivery
  • Ensure clinical and nutrition consultation for MAM cases, provide counselling, and refer patients to health facilities as needed
  • Monitor hygiene, facilitate essential supplies, and track stock levels
  • Conduct on-the-job training and supervision for HEWs and nurses
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports and share with the Senior CMAM Officer
  • Support integration of programs with DRM and MoH, ensuring adherence to medical and nutrition protocols
  • Provide mentorship in identifying and transferring severe cases to OTP or SC

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum First Degree in Nutrition, Health & Human Nutrition, Midwifery, Public Health, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work in hardship environments
  • Knowledge of local language (Somali) is mandatory
  • Cultural and gender sensitivity
