The company is offering a 100% remote opportunity in Ethiopia for a recent Civil Engineering graduate interested in gaining practical experience in U.S. construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, and project bidding.
Position: Entry-Level Construction Estimator
Minimum Qualification
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering ONLY
- Must be a 2018 Ethiopian Calendar (E.C.) graduate
- Basic understanding of:
- Construction drawings
- Construction specifications
- Materials
- Construction methods
Required Skills
Candidates should have:
- Strong numerical aptitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good computer skills
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Willingness to learn U.S. construction estimating practices
Workstation Requirements
Since this is a fully remote position, applicants must have:
- A reliable personal computer suitable for daily work
- High-speed and stable internet
- A quiet and dedicated workspace at home
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist with:
- Reviewing construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
- Performing quantity takeoffs and material counts
- Identifying and organizing material and equipment requirements
- Requesting, compiling, and evaluating supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Preparing basic cost estimates and client proposals
- Assisting senior estimators with complete bid preparation packages
- Maintaining organized estimating files, databases, and project records
Working Hours
Monday – Friday
1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Ethiopia Local Time)
