We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Programme Manager (HEO) to join the Operational Excellence Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the delivery of results-driven programmes for the Sudanese people while ensuring excellence in financial, risk, and commercial management.
Position: Programme Manager (HEO) – Operational Excellence Team
The Programme Manager will lead and coordinate the effective delivery of development programmes, managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring robust programme management standards. The role requires resilience, strong financial oversight, and the ability to deliver results in complex contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee programme and project management (PPM) processes, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating resilience and initiative.
- Provide accurate financial forecasts, track expenditures, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate programme risks and issues.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support, challenge, and hold implementing partners accountable for results delivery.
- Contribute to team flexibility, supporting colleagues beyond core PPM work as needed.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Fluent English language skills.
- Strong knowledge of Programme and Project Management (PPM) procedures and standards.
- Proven ability to manage financial systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in risk and issue management.
- Capacity to manage competing priorities and workloads effectively.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team environment.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in the international development or humanitarian sector.
- Knowledge of Arabic language.
- Prior work experience in or on Sudan.
- Formal programme management qualifications (APM PMQ, AGILE, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
