Position Summary: Procurement Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Amref Health Africa is seeking a Procurement Assistant to support procurement functions under the supervision of the Procurement Manager. This temporary role is vital to ensuring smooth operations and effective procurement practices during the maternity leave period.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement System Commitments: Review Gates-funded budget commitments and update system records, ensuring accuracy.
- Delivery Follow-Up: Monitor outstanding goods, services, and works to ensure timely completion.
- Payment Tracking: Follow up on pending payments from the previous fiscal year to guarantee proper closure.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate reports on cancelled and fulfilled commitments for the project team and finance office.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- BA degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience for degree holders.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience for diploma holders.
- Skills:
- Understanding of procurement regulations
- Strong multitasking and deadline management
- Polite and professional interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer skills and fluency in English
- Excellent planning, coordination, and communication
