Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) invites qualified and motivated recent graduates to apply for the WASH Internship opportunity in Ethiopia.
Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is an international non-profit organization committed to eradicating poverty and injustice through humanitarian assistance and long-term development programs. Guided by its vision of “Together for a Just World,” NCA has been operating in Ethiopia since 1974 and works closely with local faith-based partners to implement impactful programs.
NCA Ethiopia focuses on Climate Resilient Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (CRWASH), Climate and Environment Stewardship, Economic Development and Food Security, Peacebuilding, Gender-Based Violence, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Humanitarian Emergency Response programs.
Position: WASH Intern
Educational Qualification
- Recent graduate (graduated within 2025/2026) in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Hydrology, or related fields
- Minimum CGPA of 3.5 and above
- Must have successfully passed the exit examination
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Knowledge of software related to WASH activities, data collection, and analysis is an advantage
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in Amharic and English is required
- Knowledge of additional local languages is advantageous
Personal Skills and Competencies
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn
- Strong integrity and professional competence
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote project areas
Internship Duration
- Three months with possible extension for an additional three months depending on funding availability
Duty Station
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with frequent travel to project sites
