About NEBE
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established under Proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated institution responsible for administering elections, organizing referenda, and regulating political parties across Ethiopia.
To strengthen institutional capacity and enhance human resources, NEBE invites qualified and motivated fresh graduates to apply for a Legal Intern position.
Position: Legal Intern
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- 0–1 year of experience
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of legal concepts, electoral laws, and conflict resolution principles
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to remain neutral, objective, and calm in high-pressure scenarios
- Ethical mindset with a strong sense of confidentiality, fairness, and impartiality
Key Role & Responsibilities
The Legal Intern supports NEBE in receiving, reviewing, and managing electoral complaints. The role requires strong legal knowledge, analytical ability, and familiarity with conflict resolution. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in evaluating electoral grievances
- Supporting legal processes and documentation
- Ensuring integrity and impartial handling of cases
- Contributing to effective case management and conflict resolution
Internship Details
- Number of Interns Needed: 5
- Duration: 6 Months
- Duty Station: NEBE Headquarters, Addis Ababa
- Salary: Based on organizational scale
