About NEBE

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is an independent organization established under Article 102 of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. NEBE oversees the conduct of national and local elections, referendums, and ensures the integrity of the electoral process.

Since January 2019, NEBE has undergone reforms under Proclamation No. 1133/2019, with a management board of five full-time members serving six-year terms. The organization emphasizes transparency, legality, and impartiality in all its operations.

Position: Head, Election Legal Department

Education & Experience Requirements:

• MA or PhD in Law or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience for MA or 8 years for PhD, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.

Technical Competencies:

• Strong understanding of electoral laws, regulations, and legal frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven leadership experience in managing legal teams.
