About the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE)
NEBE is an independent constitutional organization established under Article 102 of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. NEBE is responsible for conducting elections, referendums, and other electoral processes across the country.
The Board operates both at the federal and regional levels, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and integrity in all electoral operations. Since 2019, NEBE has implemented reforms to streamline management and strengthen operational efficiency.
Available Positions and Requirements
Position 1: Cashier
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
Experience:
- 0 years for Master’s or 3 years for Bachelor’s
Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic mathematics knowledge
- IFMIS system knowledge
Duty Stations: Shashemene, Nekemte, Jimma, Gode, Debre Birhan, Bonga
Position 2: Junior Finance Expert II
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
Experience:
- 2 years for Master’s or 4 years for Bachelor’s
Knowledge/Skills:
- Financial rules and regulations, tax laws, payroll preparation, budgeting
- Accuracy, attention to detail, IFMIS proficiency
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Duty Stations: Adama, Shashemene, Dessie, Gonder, Debre Birhan, Bonga
Position 3: ICT Support Expert
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Networks, or related field
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years for Master’s or 7 years for Bachelor’s in ICT support
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong understanding of electoral processes
- Reporting and documentation
- Proficiency in local languages preferred

Position 4: CVE and Inclusive Expert
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Gender and Inclusion, Curriculum Development, or related field
Experience:
- 5 years for Master’s or 7 years for Bachelor’s
Duty Stations: Shashemene, Gode
Position 5: Political Party Affairs and Election Operation Expert
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Development Studies, Human Rights, Law, Project Management, Management, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or related field
Experience:

Position 6: Finance Expert
Educational Qualification:

Position 9: Procurement Expert
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Management, Economics, Purchasing and Supplies Management, Marketing, or related field
Experience:
- 5 years for Master’s or 7 years for Bachelor’s
Duty Stations: Nekemte, Jimma, Gode, Debre Birhan, Bonga
Position 10: Frontend Developer
Educational Qualification:
- BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), React.js, Vue.js, or Angular
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less), CSS-in-JS, npm/yarn, Webpack/Vite/Babel
- Git version control
- Basic backend understanding (Node.js, Express, REST/GraphQL)
Preferred Qualifications:
- TypeScript, PWAs, Web Accessibility (WCAG), headless CMS (Strapi, Contentful), Next.js/Gatsby, Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS, Vercel, Netlify)
