Position Summary: HR and Resources Associate
MERSA Media Institute is seeking a highly motivated HR and Resources Associate to support its growing operations. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a background in human resources, finance, or administration and a passion for contributing to nonprofit and media development work in Ethiopia and the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- Assist with HR records management and policy enforcement
- Track and ensure compliance with national labor laws and internal policies
- Contribute to financial management activities and resource tracking
- Work with IPSAS standards and donor reporting frameworks
- Provide administrative and operational support across departments
- Facilitate internal communications and employee engagement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in HR, finance, or compliance (NGO/private sector experience preferred)
- Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and HR best practices
- Training or experience in IPSAS is an advantage
- Proficiency in HR systems and software
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
