ABOUT MATERNITY FOUNDATION
Maternity Foundation is a global non-profit organization working to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in developing countries. By leveraging digital health tools, such as the Safe Delivery App, we empower health workers with knowledge and skills that save lives. With a strong focus on reproductive health, gender equity, and health systems strengthening, we aim to create lasting impact.
INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
Maternity Foundation is seeking motivated and passionate interns to join our team in Addis Ababa. We welcome candidates with academic or professional experience in program management, public health, communications, fundraising, research, or data analysis. Interns will support real-time projects and gain hands-on experience in humanitarian and global health programming.
POTENTIAL AREAS OF WORK
Depending on your background and interests, internship assignments may include:
- Conducting literature reviews and synthesizing public health data
- Supporting program implementation, training, and field supervision
- Developing content for social media and newsletters
- Assisting in communication campaigns and press releases
- Mapping fundraising opportunities and writing proposals
- Designing infographics to visualize project impact
- Building Power BI, Qlik dashboards, or writing SQL queries
- Applying data science tools to analyze app usage and project results
- Performing spatial or statistical data analysis
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Background:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Public Health, Global Health, Midwifery, Data Science, Health Economics, Communication, Social Sciences, or a related field
Experience & Skills:
- Experience in writing, data analysis, project management, or communication
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); other language skills are a plus
- Interest in maternal health, digital health, sexual & reproductive rights, or development work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team
- Flexible, proactive, and open-minded attitude
