The Internship Program 2026 provides ambitious young professionals with practical work experience, mentorship, and skill development opportunities to successfully transition into future employment or entrepreneurship.
Program Structure
- Fixed 11-month, full-time internship (non-extendable).
- Placement in one of the Foundation’s departments: Programs, Finance, People & Culture, Legal & Compliance, Impact, Research and Learning, Technology, Communications, or Office of the CEO.
- Access to orientation, onboarding, mentorship, and e-learning platforms.
- Participation in career development programs and professional workshops.
Key Responsibilities
As an intern, you will:
- Support design, implementation, and monitoring of programs on youth employment, education, and entrepreneurship.
- Conduct research, data analysis, and contribute to program design.
- Assist with reporting, knowledge management, and documentation.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for events and stakeholder engagements.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth operations and delivery.
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance youth-centered programming.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible to work in one of the seven African countries where the Foundation operates.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- 0–4 years of professional experience.
- Not currently enrolled in full-time studies.
- Active community engagement or extracurricular involvement is an advantage.
- Alumni of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program may apply if not enrolled in ongoing Foundation programs.
Who You Are
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication (oral and written).
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
- Passionate about youth development, social impact, and inclusive growth in Africa.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work in multicultural environments.
