EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- No prior work experience required.
- Internship experience in a hotel or restaurant is an advantage but is not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is an advantage.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Native-level fluency in Amharic.
- Professional written and spoken English proficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Cost Control Officer will support the hospitality finance team in monitoring expenses and maintaining cost efficiency.
1. Cost Monitoring
- Assist in tracking daily expenses across front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Monitor Food and Beverage (F&B) costs and utility expenses.
2. Inventory Verification
- Participate in physical stock counts and inventory audits.
- Assist with identifying and analyzing inventory variances involving hotel supplies and kitchen provisions.
3. Data Entry and Reporting
- Enter and organize financial data in cost-control spreadsheets and internal management systems.
- Help prepare cost-control reports for management.
4. Wastage Control
- Monitor portion control, kitchen waste, and spoilage reports.
- Support efforts to reduce waste while maintaining product and service quality.
5. Invoice Verification
- Check supplier invoices against purchase orders and receiving records.
- Help ensure the accuracy of supplier prices and related documentation.
