Position: Junior Agronomist
Qualifications & Skills
- BSc degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related fields
- 0 years of experience (fresh graduates encouraged)
- Strong research skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills
Job Purpose
To research, plan, and implement farm planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques in order to improve crop yield and agricultural productivity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques to improve crop yield
- Plan irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines
- Research agricultural strategies to address soil, climate, weather, and pest challenges
- Assess crop production performance on farms
- Evaluate and improve seed quality
- Conduct laboratory tests on soil, seed, and crop samples
- Perform quality control for seed and soil standards
- Collect field samples (soil, seed, plant) from farms
- Test samples for diseases, deficiencies, and quality issues
- Support plant sourcing, testing, and selection processes
- Maintain detailed records of farms, crops, and samples
- Prepare reports and present findings to management
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors
