POSITION: JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT
The Junior Accountant will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the finance department in day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare vendor payments, cheque processing, and ensure timely disbursements.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and ledger postings.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Handle petty cash management and expense tracking.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and daily activity reports.
- Update accounts payable and reconcile transactions.
- Verify and process invoices, ensuring sequential documentation.
- Serve as a liaison with vendors, ERCA, and banks for documentation and payments.
- Assist in budget tracking, cost accounting, and internal financial reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Experience: Some exposure to cost accounting, budgeting, or ERP/Peachtree systems preferred.
- Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
