Position: IT Support

Huawei Technologies Ethiopia is seeking a qualified IT Support Specialist to join its professional team in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate will provide end-user technical assistance, maintain network systems, and ensure continuous operational efficiency in a fast-paced, multinational work environment.

Education & Major Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Language Skills

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required

Skills or Certificate Requirements

  • HCNA, A+, or equivalent IT/network certification
  • Strong background in network design, installation, and maintenance
  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security configurations

Key Responsibilities

Network Management

  • Design, install, and upgrade network systems, including hardware and software components
  • Monitor network performance and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability and uptime
  • Implement and manage network security measures in alignment with company policies

Technical Support

  • Provide end-user support for both hardware and software issues
  • Diagnose, research, and resolve IT-related incidents within established SLAs
  • Offer technical assistance for printers, meeting devices, and other office equipment

System Administration

  • Perform daily system health checks and maintain network documentation
  • Manage user accounts, access rights, and IT asset inventories
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new devices

User Training & Documentation

  • Train staff on cybersecurity awareness and new technology usage
  • Communicate technical solutions effectively to non-technical users
  • Maintain detailed records of support requests, incidents, and resolutions

Project Involvement

  • Support ongoing IT infrastructure and network upgrade projects
  • Participate in technical meetings and collaborate with internal departments
