Position: Supply Chain Intern – Fresh Graduate Opportunity
IRC Ethiopia is seeking qualified and motivated recent graduates or final-year students for the position of Supply Chain Intern in Addis Ababa. This internship provides practical exposure to procurement compliance, ERP systems, documentation management, and audit preparation within a leading international humanitarian organization.
Educational Requirements
Recent graduate or final-year student in:
Procurement and Supplies Management
Business Administration
Information Management
Or related fields
Required Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for tracking and reporting
Familiarity with digital filing systems and document management tools
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in written and spoken Amharic and English
Internship Program Overview
The Supply Chain Intern will support IRC’s supply chain compliance efforts by ensuring procurement documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready across Addis Ababa and field offices. The role focuses on strengthening documentation standards, improving digital filing quality in Integra and Box systems, and supporting procurement teams to comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This internship offers hands-on experience in procurement compliance, digital record management, ERP systems, and audit readiness.
Major Responsibilities
Procurement Documentation Review
Review and verify procurement attachments uploaded in Integra
Ensure documentation aligns with procurement methods and financial thresholds
Identify missing or incomplete documents such as signatures, bid summaries, RFQs, and BEPs
Digital Filing and Compliance
Audit Box folders to confirm file accuracy and naming consistency
Maintain a Master Procurement Index linking physical files to digital records
Conduct weekly spot checks to ensure compliance with Direct, Single, and Competitive procurement thresholds
SOP Implementation Support
Assist procurement teams in ensuring new requests follow updated SOP workflows from initiation
Reporting and Tracking
Maintain a compliance tracker across departments and field offices
Support reporting on documentation gaps and training needs
Vendor Record Maintenance
Update and verify Vendor Master File documentation
Ensure business licenses and tax registrations are valid and properly uploaded
Audit Preparation
Prepare audit-ready folders for internal and external audits
Ensure procurement transactions meet SOP checklist requirements
Process Improvement
Suggest methods to automate or simplify the filing process within Integra
Support improvements to reduce manual errors and duplication
