Through its specialized institution, the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), the organization is at the forefront of enhancing resilience and enabling anticipatory action against climate-related risks and disasters in Eastern Africa.
Position Summary
IGAD is seeking a qualified Monitoring and Evaluation Expert to strengthen its Results-Based Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (RBMEL) systems at ICPAC. The role will focus on assessing performance, enhancing accountability, and promoting learning across regional programs aimed at building climate resilience.

Qualifications and Experience
Academic Requirements
- Master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, or other relevant disciplines.
- Additional professional qualifications in Project Cycle Management and M&E are considered an asset.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning in the IGAD region or Africa.
- Demonstrated experience in donor reporting and working on development or humanitarian projects.
- Proficiency in developing RBM frameworks and using performance-based reporting tools.
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of M&E principles and practices.
- Excellent reporting, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration abilities.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience working in the IGAD region is highly desirable.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be negotiated based on IGAD’s salary scale, qualifications, and relevant experience.
