Role Summary:
The Senior Internal Auditor will lead internal audit activities, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, assessing operational risks, and providing advisory support to enhance governance, risk management, and operational efficiency. The role reports to the Audit Advisor and top management and is pivotal in strengthening internal controls and mitigating risks.
Position: Senior Internal Auditor
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Business Management with 4 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in auditing
OR - Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Business Management with 6 years of related experience
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Audit Planning & Execution
- Lead, plan, and execute internal audit assignments according to the annual audit plan
- Identify key risks and develop audit programs for effective reviews
- Ensure timely implementation of external auditors’ recommendations
- Monitor compliance with government proclamations, directives, and company policies
Risk & Control Assessment
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls across departments
- Identify areas of risk exposure and recommend mitigation strategies
- Evaluate compliance with policies, legal requirements, and industry standards
- Document processes and prepare audit findings memoranda
Reporting & Follow-up
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured audit reports
- Present findings and recommendations to management
- Monitor and follow up on implementation of agreed actions
- Conduct special investigations into suspected misconduct, fraud, or misrepresentation
Advisory & Continuous Improvement
- Provide advisory support on risk and control issues
- Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence
- Stay updated on auditing standards, industry regulations, and emerging risks
