Position: Local Procurement Officer
Qualifications:
- Education: BA in Logistics and Supplies Management, Business Management, or related fields
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in local procurement roles
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Office 365 and ERP systems (a plus)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Fluency in both Amharic and English (written and spoken)
Key Responsibilities:
- Categorize and compile purchase requests from departments
- Prepare bid documents, advertisements, and quotation requests
- Conduct market assessments for optimal pricing and quality
- Manage procurement process from vendor selection to final purchase
- Draft and send purchase orders and follow up for on-time delivery
- Detect and report shortages, defects, or missing parts
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain procurement records
- Support budget-friendly and compliant purchasing practices
