Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents:

1. Completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English)
2. Physical Examination Form for Foreigners (in Chinese or English; valid for 6 months; signed/stamped by a hospital)
3. Notarized Bachelor’s/Master’s degree certificate (pre-graduation certificate accepted for fresh graduates)
4. Notarized Academic transcripts
5. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors
6. Study or research plan (minimum 800 words, in Chinese or English)
7. Copy of research results, abstracts, or award certificates (if applicable)
8. Proof of language proficiency:
   • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 or above (valid 2 years)
   • English-taught programs: IELTS ≥5.5, TOEFL ≥80, or equivalent
9. Copy of valid passport (and visa/residence permit page if currently in China)

Note: All documents must be uploaded to the online application system and mailed in two bound copies to Hohai University. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria

• Non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health
• Degree and age limits:
  • Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree, under 35 years
  • PhD applicants: Master’s degree, under 40 years
• Excellent academic record and research ability
• Must not be receiving another scholarship
• Chinese-taught programs require HSK Level 4 or above
