About Griffith University Research Scholarships 2025–26
Griffith University invites international students from around the world to apply for the Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (GUIPRS) for the 2025–26 academic year. This is a fully funded opportunity to pursue a Master’s or PhD by research in Australia.
The scholarship provides a complete tuition fee waiver and health insurance for both the applicant and any dependents. Up to 600 awards will be offered, making this one of the most accessible research funding programs in Australia.

Scholarship Duration
- Master’s Degree by Research: 2 years
- Doctoral (PhD) Degree: 3 years

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Griffith University GUIPRS Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an international student (i.e., not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen)
- Must not be receiving any equivalent scholarship that covers tuition fees for a higher degree by research
- Must meet Griffith University’s entry requirements for the HDR (Higher Degree Research) program
- Applicants are advised to review the Conditions of Award available on the university’s website
Application Deadlines
- Intake 1: 31 January 2025
- Intake 2: 3 July 2025
- Intake 3: 30 September 2025 (final deadline for 2025 applications)
