About ELiDA

Empathy for Life Integrated Development Association (ELiDA) is a women-led, women’s rights, non-profit, board-led Indigenous National Civil Society Organization (CSO). ELiDA works to address multidimensional social, economic, and political challenges in Ethiopia, with a strong commitment to empowering women and girls through education, awareness creation, and advocacy against harmful traditional practices such as early marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM), and other harmful traditional practices (HTPs).

Position: Field Research Enumerator

The Field Research Enumerator will be responsible for conducting high-quality data collection in assigned locations, ensuring adherence to ethical research practices and maintaining the integrity of collected data.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Minimum of a Diploma in Community Development, Sociology, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field (Degree preferred).
• Previous experience conducting field surveys, preferably in similar settings.
• Current resident of one of the target areas.
• Cultural awareness and respect for local norms.
• Proficiency in electronic data collection tools (Survey CTO, ODK, Kobo Collect).
• Fluency in English, Amharic, and relevant local languages.
• Strong attention to detail and data quality standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Commitment to safeguarding policies and ethical research standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in virtual training sessions.
• Explain survey objectives and obtain informed consent from participants.
• Conduct surveys using tablets, smartphones, or other approved devices.
• Review collected data daily to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality of all collected information.
• Ensure all necessary tools are functional before starting fieldwork.
• Conduct in-person or telephone interviews as assigned.
• Participate in daily debriefing meetings with supervisors.
• Maintain proper storage and return of any project equipment issued.
