POSITION: Funded Traineeship for Young Graduates – Political Section
Are you a motivated graduate with a passion for international relations, communication, and diplomacy? The EU Delegation to the African Union in Addis Ababa is offering a funded traineeship opportunity designed to give young professionals first-hand experience in international cooperation and public diplomacy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research & Analysis
- Conduct research on regional and continental issues.
- Contribute to reports, briefings, and analytical papers.
- Communication & Media Engagement
- Draft newsletters, social media content, and press releases.
- Support audiovisual and digital communication projects.
- Event Coordination & Outreach
- Assist in organizing events, workshops, and conferences.
- Prepare post-event summaries and internal reports.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Support coordination between the EU Delegation and partner organizations.
- Maintain communication databases and collaborative platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must reside in Ethiopia (local candidates only).
- Master’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Law, or related social sciences.
- Maximum 1 year of professional experience.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Strong knowledge of European Union and African Union politics and governance.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
- Competence in Canva, social media, or audiovisual content production tools.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
WHAT THE PROGRAM OFFERS
- A 6-month funded traineeship with the EU Delegation to the African Union.
- A monthly grant to cover basic living expenses.
- Exposure to international relations, diplomacy, and development cooperation.
- Professional mentorship and real-world experience in EU public diplomacy.
Travel, visa, accommodation, and insurance costs are the responsibility of the trainee.
