About CECOE
The Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations for Elections (CECOE) is a non-profit civil society organization established in 2019 and registered under the Ethiopian Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO).
As part of preparations for Ethiopia’s 7th General Election, CECOE plans to deploy 5,000 Short-Term Observers (STOs) across the country and establish an Election Situation Room to support election monitoring and data analysis activities.
Position Summary: Data Clerks
Data Clerks will support the Election Situation Room by collecting, verifying, cleaning, and processing election observation reports received from field observers during the election period.
Qualification Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Political Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related fields
Technical Skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar data management tools
- Knowledge of data cleaning techniques is an advantage

- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Language Requirements
Applicants must be proficient in one of the following languages:

Key Responsibilities
- Receive and verify election observation reports
- Contact observers regarding critical incidents
- Input, validate, and clean observation data
- Maintain confidentiality of collected information
- Perform additional duties assigned by CECOE
Payment & Duration
- Gross daily payment: EUR 34 (paid in Ethiopian Birr at applicable exchange rate)
- Payment is based on attendance and supervisor approval
- Applicable taxes will be deducted
- Engagement period: 8 days
