About Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA)
The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) is an autonomous federal regulatory authority established under Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021. ECMA’s core mandate is to ensure the existence of a capital market environment where securities are issued and traded in an orderly, fair, transparent, and efficient manner.
As the national regulator, ECMA licenses and supervises securities exchanges, derivatives exchanges, securities depository and clearing companies, capital market service providers, over-the-counter trading facilities, and other regulated activities under its jurisdiction.
ECMA is now seeking qualified professionals to strengthen its regulatory and policy development capacity.
Position: Senior Regulatory Policy Development Officer II
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Economics from a recognized and accredited institution
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in:
- Policy formulation
- Strategic planning
- Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Core Competencies & Skills
- Strong experience in drafting, implementing, reviewing, and updating regulatory frameworks, guidelines, and policy instruments
- Advanced analytical and research skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable policies
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives involving government institutions, private sector actors, and international organizations
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines with high-quality outputs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder coordination skills
- Fluency in both Amharic and English is mandatory
