The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI), formerly known as the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA), is a strategy and delivery-oriented government institute created to accelerate the growth and transformation of Ethiopia’s agriculture sector. Agriculture remains a key contributor to the country’s GDP, exports, and employment.
ATI’s mission is to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers (SHFs) by enhancing income, inclusiveness, resilience, and sustainability across Ethiopia’s agricultural system.
Position: Junior Finance Officer
Qualifications and Competencies
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience as Junior Finance Officer, Accountant, or Cashier-Accountant.
- Experience with NGOs, donor-funded, bilateral, or multilateral organizations is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian financial, tax, and labor laws and regulations.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- Team player with multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
ey Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of financial transactions.
- File and maintain both soft and hard copies of financial records in compliance with ATI standards.
- Provide required financial documents to internal and external auditors upon request.
- Conduct proper filing support including scanning, organizing, and archiving records.
- Assist in preparing finance records for easy reference and accessibility.
- Support cashier functions including payments and substitute in their absence.
- Maintain records of monthly payroll, tax settlements, and related vouchers.
- Verify completeness of supporting documents and ensure stamping on all pages.
- Handle requests from donors, partners, and staff for financial documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Finance Officer.
