JOB POSITION & REQUIREMENTS

Position: Associate IT Support

Education: BSc in Information Technology, Computer science, and other related fields
Education: 2 years relevant work experience in IT support.

The purpose of this job is to Provide IT Infrastructure and application support to ECX users, also diagnose, make corrective maintenance, and repair routine problems with ALL IT equipment’s Boards, hard disks, monitors, and so on. Support ECX IT users primarily on onsite support according to the established Service Level Agreement; provide training to users on new applications, computers, and IT systems; conduct preventive & corrective maintenance and coordinate warranty repair actions for equipment under warranty; and register, manage and close all IT related incidents and issues.

Summary of Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installs and configures computer hardware, operating systems, printers, scanners, electronic price display/tickers, IT-related equipment, networks, different applications, and power systems;
  • Provides required standard and on-demand report 
  • Provides first-level contact and conveys resolutions to customer issues
  • Tests and evaluates new IT equipment accessories purchased;
  • Properly escalates unresolved queries to the next level of support
  • Properly tracks, routes, redirects, follows and closes incidents
  • Diagnoses hardware and software network problems;
  • Makes routine checks and reports on the performance level of all IT equipment.
  • Monitors and maintains computer systems & peripherals (Printers, scanners, photocopy machines, and different UPSs, electronic price display/tickers, IT-related equipment, and networks);
  • Develops plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations;
  • Maintains and provides general support for Local Area Networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), stand-alone systems, and any specialized systems used by the ECX including any associated network/backbone/infrastructure hardware/software;
  • Liaises and works with other IT units and central IT Support staff to solve user problems
  • Sets  up new users’ accounts and profiles and deals with password issues;
  • Manages end-user/access-layer network port security-related issues
  • Sets up new users’ accounts & profiles and deals with password issues;
  • Maintains a historical record of problem resolution & submits a trouble report to the Manager using the system;
  • Assesses the need for new IT equipment, produces specifications and monitors use.
  • Provides training to users on new applications, computers, and IT systems
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
