Empowerment for Development (ED) is a national non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities, including women, children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and migrants. The organization works across several thematic areas, including Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment, Humanitarian Response, Climate Change, Education, Youth Development, Community Health, Protection, and Peacebuilding.
ED is seeking qualified, motivated, and passionate candidates for the following vacant positions.
Position 1: Program Officer (Intern)
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in:
- Sociology
- Management
- Development Studies
- Social Work
- Related fields
Requirements
- Basic understanding of Project Cycle Management
- Ability to monitor project activities and track implementation progress
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Commitment to community development and humanitarian work
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (Written and Spoken)
- Knowledge of Afar-af is an added advantage

Position 2: Business Development Officer (Intern)
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in:
- Business Administration
- Sociology
- Management
- Marketing
- Communications
- Related fields
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proposal and content development abilities
- Networking and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in social media and communication platforms
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (Written and Spoken)

Position 3: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Statistics
- Social Sciences

Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in NGO or humanitarian projects
Requirements
- Experience in MEAL systems implementation
- Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis skills
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of Afar-af is an advantage
