ABOUT THE EMBASSY
The Embassy of Sweden in Addis Ababa represents Sweden’s bilateral and multilateral relations with Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Sudan, the African Union (AU), IGAD, and UNECA. The Embassy works across five sections including Political Affairs, Development Cooperation (bilateral and regional), Migration, and Consular Services.
This specific role falls under Sweden’s efforts in inclusive economic development, focused on environmental sustainability, human rights, gender equity, peaceful societies, and regional cooperation through partners like the African Union, AfDB, and regional economic communities.
POSITION SUMMARY
The National Program Officer for Inclusive Economic Growth will be responsible for program management, analysis, partner engagement, and reporting aligned with Sweden’s regional development goals in Africa. The officer will support sustainable economic growth projects and partnerships in alignment with Sweden’s human rights and gender-based approach.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Development Studies, International Relations, or another relevant field
- At least 3 years of work experience in economic development or related sectors
- Prior experience working in embassies, donor organizations, implementing agencies, banks, or development finance institutions
- Excellent oral and written English communication
- Strong ICT/computer literacy with experience in digital collaboration and reporting tools

Eligibility:
