As the company expands its automotive services, it is seeking a qualified Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician to join its technical team.
Position: Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in automotive repair
- Direct experience working with Electric Vehicle (EV) or Hybrid high-voltage systems is highly preferred
- Experience maintaining BYD electric vehicles is a strong advantage
Required Skills
- Strong ability to read electrical wiring diagrams
- Proficiency in using multimeters and digital vehicle diagnostic software
- Knowledge of diagnostic scanners and automotive troubleshooting tools
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electronic vehicle systems
- Fast learner with excellent attention to detail
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and workshop procedures
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Installing Electric Vehicle charging systems, including slow and fast chargers
- Using diagnostic scanners to identify and troubleshoot vehicle faults
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues in electric vehicles and smart mobility units
- Inspecting, testing, servicing, and balancing high-voltage battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Performing software updates, firmware upgrades, electronic module programming, and system calibration using diagnostic equipment
