About EBS Television

Ethiopian Broadcasting Service (EBS TV) is a privately owned Ethiopian satellite television channel. Launched in 2008, EBS TV broadcasts primarily in Amharic and was one of the first private television channels launched in EthiopiaEBS TV is currently seeking qualified and motivated professionals as it works to strengthen its institutional structure, adopt modern operational systems, and enhance its corporate-level operations.

Position: Quality Controller – Product Quality Assurance

Educational Qualification

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as:

• Quality Assurance
• Engineering
• Consumer Sciences
• Business
• Marketing
• Related disciplines

Experience Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in:
  • Quality Control
  • Quality Assurance
  • Product Inspection
  • Retail Buying
  • Related fields
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or broadcast media is an advantage.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

Candidates should have:

• Knowledge of teleshopping, e-commerce, or retail quality standards
• Understanding of product safety standards and certification requirements
• Knowledge of electrical, cosmetic, food, and textile product standards
• Understanding of consumer protection regulations
• Understanding of advertising truth-in-claims requirements
• Basic knowledge of broadcast production timelines and live-show workflows
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
• Knowledge of database or inventory systems is an advantage

Ability to review documentation, test results, and customer complaints to identify quality trends.

Ability to prioritize consumer safety and EBS TV’s reputation over short-term sales objectives.

Team Collaboration

Ability to work effectively with vendor relations, legal, production, and hosting teams.
