Position: Country Manager – Ethiopia
Education and Experience:
- University degree and relevant commercial or business qualifications
- Extensive experience in senior or general management within logistics, aviation, or related service industries
- Proven track record managing a Profit and Loss (P&L) entity of comparable size
- Broad understanding of functional business operations and market strategy
- High level of business acumen with awareness of economic and market conditions
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage national operations to deliver service excellence and achieve business performance targets
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers to ensure satisfaction, retention, and new business growth
- Represent DHL positively among industry stakeholders, business partners, trade bodies, and regulatory authorities
- Ensure achievement of revenue, profit, and service-level goals outlined in the annual business plan
- Align local tactical plans with DHL’s global and regional strategic objectives
- Provide strong leadership and communication to drive organizational success and employee engagement
- Monitor market conditions and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth
- Continuously review and enhance operational processes for improved productivity and customer value
- Oversee the financial stability of the company, ensuring compliance with legal and management standards
- Improve liquidity and manage capital through effective cost control and debtor management
- Define the organizational structure, assign performance targets, and manage resources to achieve goals
