About Chora Gas and Chemical Product Factory (CGCPF)
Chora Gas and Chemical Product Factory (CGCPF) is one of Ethiopia’s pioneering industrial manufacturers with a legacy spanning over eight decades. The company was first established in 1938 E.C. in Addis Ababa under the name SEDE, founded by four foreign nationals and one Ethiopian citizen with an initial capital of 1,500 birr.
In its early years, the factory specialized in producing Oxygen and Acetylene gases, Sedex Bleach, and wax products. After becoming a government-owned enterprise in 1976 E.C., CGCPF operated under the National Chemical Corporation before gaining full autonomy in 1985 E.C. under the Public Enterprise Service Authority (PESA).
Today, CGCPF continues to play a key role in Ethiopia’s industrial sector through innovation, efficiency, and a strong commitment to product quality.
Position: Data Encoder
Educational Qualification:
- TVET Level III Certificate in Information Science/Technology, Library Science, or related fields
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data encoding or related roles
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in data encoding and typing
- Strong computer literacy and familiarity with database systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Additional qualifications in Computer Science or related disciplines are advantageous
Job Summary:
The Data Encoder will be responsible for accurately entering and verifying data, maintaining databases, ensuring data integrity, and coordinating with team members to resolve discrepancies. The role is full-time and on-site, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
