ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

The Charles Darwin University RTP Scholarship 2026 is now open for applications from both domestic and international students. Sponsored by the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP), this fully funded opportunity supports high-achieving individuals pursuing Master’s or Doctoral degrees by research at CDU in Australia.

  • Full tuition fee coverage
  • Annual living stipend of AUD $34,190

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To qualify for the Charles Darwin University RTP Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following:

For Master’s by Research:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree with first or second-class honours from a recognized university.

For PhD by Research:

  • Must demonstrate prior research experience and capability via:
    • A Bachelor’s with first or upper second-class honours, or
    • A Master’s degree with a significant research component, or
    • An equivalent research qualification.

Applicants must also meet English language proficiency requirements (IELTS/TOEFL if applicable).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

All documents must be in English and include:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree certificates & transcripts
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Research proposal
  • CV/Resume
  • Supervisor acceptance letter
  • IELTS/TOEFL score (if applicable)
  • Academic thesis or publications (PhD applicants)
  • Other supporting/reference documents (if any)

HOW TO APPLY

There is no separate application for the RTP Scholarship. Simply apply for admission to a research degree at CDU. Eligible students will be automatically considered for the scholarship.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Choose your desired Master’s or PhD by Research program.
  2. Secure supervisor acceptance.
  3. Submit your admission application via the CDU online portal.
  4. You will automatically be evaluated for RTP Scholarship eligibility.
