About the British Embassy
The British Embassy in Ethiopia supports the UK Government’s efforts to promote international development and strengthen bilateral relations between the UK and Ethiopia. Its work includes humanitarian assistance, human capital development, inclusive economic development, governance, democracy, and climate resilience.
Position: Programme Officer EO – Human Capital Development Team
The Programme Officer will support the management and delivery of Embassy programmes, focusing primarily on programme and financial management while working with government agencies, service providers, donors, and Civil Society Organisations.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years of proven experience in programme management, financial management, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple workstreams.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Amharic and/or other Ethiopian languages is an added advantage.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Experience engaging and influencing external partners.
- Experience managing suppliers effectively.
- Experience working in development, health, or humanitarian programming in Ethiopia.

Salary
USD 901.41
Base salary is subject to tax and other statutory deductions.
