ABOUT BIRUH ADIS CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION
Biruh Adis Charitable Organization (BACO) is an Ethiopian nonprofit charity established in 2023 under Proclamation No. 1113/2019 (registration no. 6796). BACO advocates for and empowers migrant returnees, particularly women who have survived sexual violence and exploitation, by providing trauma care, reintegration services, and livelihood opportunities. Supported by The Freedom Fund, BACO actively works to combat discrimination and promote dignity and inclusion for all returnees.
POSITION SUMMARY: PROJECT COORDINATOR
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of BACO’s returnee and reintegration programs. The role involves coordination with local government and NGO stakeholders, supervision of field activities, and technical guidance to ensure project quality and impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement project plans and action strategies
- Lead day-to-day operations of program activities
- Monitor progress using performance indicators and prepare reports
- Coordinate stakeholder engagements with NGOs and government bodies
- Conduct field visits and ensure quality delivery of services
- Prepare donor reports and internal documentation
- Support the project team with technical and administrative guidance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the NGO sector (non-NGO experience will not be considered)
- Experience with migration or reintegration-related projects is highly desirable
- Skills:
- Fluency in Amharic and English
- Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
