The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) is inviting qualified applicants, including fresh graduates, to apply for the following positions.
1. Junior Researcher (GIS & Remote Sensing)
Education
- BSc/BA in GIS and Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Cartography, or a related field
Experience
- 0 years of experience
- Minimum CGPA:
- 3.00 for male applicants
- 2.75 for female applicants
Location: Addis Ababa
Salary: As per AHRI’s contract employment salary scale
2. Junior Researcher (AI/ML Engineer)
Education
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
Experience
- 0 years of work experience
- Minimum CGPA:
- 3.00 for male applicants
- 2.75 for female applicants
Skills
- Basic programming knowledge such as Python or R
- Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
- Basic ability to work in a Linux/Unix command-line environment
- Strong interest in AI, machine learning, and biomedical data research
Location: Addis Ababa

3. Assistant Researcher I – Statistics and Data Science
Education
- BSc in Statistics, Data Science, or another closely related quantitative field
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in areas such as:
- Statistical analysis
- Data science
- Health research
- Surveillance
- Research data management
- Other comparable quantitative roles
CGPA
- Minimum 3.00 for male applicants
- Minimum 2.75 for female applicants

4. Researcher II – Laboratory Manager
Education
- PhD in Medical Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a closely related field
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience
Additional Requirements
- Publication points: 6 or more
