Position Summary: Area Program Manager
Are you an experienced public health or NGO program manager passionate about scaling access to family planning and SRH services in Ethiopia? Join MSI Ethiopia to lead operations across mobile and franchise service delivery outlets — driving community impact, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee program delivery through mobile units and social franchising clinics
- Prepare quarterly financial and service delivery reports
- Identify and partner with local clinics under franchise agreements
- Represent MSIE at government and stakeholder meetings in the region
Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring to field teams
- Promote MSIE’s mission-driven and social business culture
- Ensure effective resource utilization across finance, data, logistics, and human resources
- Supervise procurement, inventory, and asset management in compliance with policy
Support Functions & HR Management
- Identify staffing needs, oversee recruitment and training plans
- Conduct performance evaluations, foster a feedback-driven team culture
- Coordinate with HR for budgeting and workforce planning
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure clinical competency assessments and team training are regularly conducted
- Monitor internal audits, QTA processes, and adherence to incident management protocols
- Maintain clinical documentation and licensing compliance
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with government bodies, donors, and partner organizations
- Contribute to proposal writing, reporting, and donor liaison activities
- Support project evaluations and advocacy in the assigned area
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Education: MPH in Public Health or MBA in Management/Social Sciences
- Experience: Minimum 4 years managing programs, clinics, or regional health projects
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong people management and team development capabilities
- Knowledge of donor-funded projects and health service delivery models
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with regional/local government frameworks and SRH policies
- Local language proficiency is mandatory
- Pro-choice and aligned with MSIE’s values
