About the Amahoro Coalition
The Amahoro Coalition convenes African private sector leaders and partners to expand access to education and livelihood opportunities, with a focus on underserved and displaced communities. The Coalition emphasizes shared-value approaches, ensuring inclusive growth for both businesses and communities.
About the Fellowship Program
The Amahoro Coalition Fellowship is a 12-month program designed to support leaders with lived experience as forcibly displaced persons (FDPs). Fellows gain leadership training, practical skills, and support to scale solutions that advance refugee economic inclusion across Africa.
The program is supported by partners including the Mastercard Foundation and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
What Fellows Receive
- Thought Leadership Development: Opportunities to create/publish ideas and participate in Amahoro convenings and forums.
- Targeted Funding: Fellows can compete for funding up to USD $100,000 to scale their initiatives.
- Industry & Private Sector Connections: Networking opportunities with peers, mentors, and experts.
- Training, Coaching & Mentorship: Individual and group support with professional guidance throughout the fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria (Cohort 4)
- Age: 18–35 at the time of application
- Background: Lived experience as a forcibly displaced person (FDP)
- Leadership: Own or lead a business, social impact initiative, or advocacy platform
- Commitment to Inclusion: Dedication to refugee economic inclusion through entrepreneurship, innovation, advocacy, or community-led social change
- Track Record: 1–2 years of measurable progress in entrepreneurship, innovation, or social change (registration, revenue, partnerships, media features, impact reports, awards, or testimonials)
- Skills & Readiness: Resilience, creativity, solution-oriented mindset, proficiency in English, basic digital productivity skills
- Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate 12 months (10–15 hours/week) to virtual workshops and activities

How to Apply
- Confirm you meet the FDP lived-experience and age requirements (18–35).
- Prepare proof of progress over 1–2 years: impact evidence, milestones, partners, testimonials, media coverage, registration, or revenue indicators.
- Clarify your leadership role and initiative: explain what you lead, who it serves, and how it advances refugee economic inclusion.
- Draft responses offline using the official application PDF for preparation.
- Submit via the official Amahoro MIS portal before the deadline.
