Position Available
Advocacy & External Engagement Intern
The intern will support World Vision’s engagement with the African Union (AU) by conducting research, administrative support, planning, documentation, policy analysis, and reporting activities aligned with the partnership objectives between World Vision and the AU.
Qualification Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Social Sciences
- Communication
- Public Policy
- Management
- Law
- Related fields
Additional Qualifications
- Training certificate in:
- Advocacy
- Child Rights
- Policy Influence
(Added advantage)
- Applicants must have graduated within the last 2 years.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in:
- Advocacy
- External engagement
- Campaigns
- Policy analysis
(Experience in developing countries is an advantage)
Knowledge & Competencies
Applicants should have:
- Knowledge of child rights, including:
- African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child
- UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
- Experience organizing workshops, forums, or multi-country events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills in multicultural environments.
- Planning and organizational abilities.
- Research skills, especially in policy and advocacy.
- Understanding of humanitarian and fragile contexts.
- Knowledge of the African Union is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will support:
- Monitoring and reporting on AU engagements and events related to World Vision’s AU Liaison Office.
- Research and policy analysis activities.
- Networking and external engagement initiatives.
- Administrative support, planning, and reporting.
- Communication activities.
Language Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Knowledge of any African Union official language is an added advantage.
Travel & Work Environment
- Travel Requirement: Very minimal travel required.
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa
