JOB POSITION & REQUIREMENTS
Welthungerhilfe/German Agro Action is an international NGO with Head-Quarter in Bonn and working in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. We work in the sectors of Rural Development, WASH, Natural Resource Management and Social Development. Welthungerhilfe/GAA Ethiopia follows partnership approach for project planning, implementation, and administration with Ethiopian Partner-NGOs and in exceptional cases WHH/GAA implements projects by itself.
Position: Finance Assistant
Qualification:
- BA in Accounting with three years of relevant work experience in local NGO/CSPs
- Advanced knowledge of English
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting software
- Good interpersonal skills and motivated and willing to take initiative (determination).
Ensure timely and accurate payments are made.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of payment documents in compliance with WHH and donor policies and procedures.
- Ensure completeness of supporting documents in all respect which includes authenticity of signatures, cross-checking attendance sheets and verifying payments made to casuals and volunteers.
- Recording all vouchers into transaction spreadsheet on daily basis for review by the Senior Finance Expert. Ensure that all information in the spreadsheet is correct and complete.
- Prepare all payments and make sure that they are properly coded and supported with relevant and necessary documents.
- Assist Senior Finance Expert with monthly bank account reconciliation.
- Support the project beneficery sub grantees & finance officer in budget planning, modification and forecasting.
- Ensure all the financial documents are properly filed and numbered.
- Paid’ stamping of all the invoices and related documents before filing.
- Ensure that the expenditure reported are reconciled with your accounting record.
- Assist with timely scanning and uploading on online platform of all completed finance documents.
- Perform any other task as assigned by the line manager/immediate supervisor
- Supporting Annual audit report
