Education Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be in the final year of a first university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Be enrolled in a Master’s degree programme.
- Be enrolled in a PhD programme or equivalent.
- Have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programme.
Applicants who meet one of these criteria must indicate the applicable criterion and attach supporting documentation to their application. An official certificate will be required at a later stage.
Work Experience
- No professional work experience is required for applicants to the UN Internship Programme.
- Applicants must have a field of study closely related to the internship they are applying for.
Technical Skills
Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, particularly:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Teams
Additional Requirements
The intern is expected to:
- Demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the United Nations Charter.
- Demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with individuals from different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
- Show willingness to understand and tolerate differing opinions and views.
