About the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program

Scholarship Benefits
Knight-Hennessy Scholars receive comprehensive funding for the full duration of their graduate program, which includes:

- Annual round-trip airfare to and from Stanford
- Supplemental funding for academic endeavors such as conference travel
Scholarship Duration
- Master’s degrees: Up to 3 years
- Doctoral degrees (PhD): Up to 6 years
- Joint or dual graduate degrees may have varying durations depending on the program

Knight-Hennessy Scholars can pursue any graduate degree at Stanford University, including but not limited to:

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship 2025–26, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Open to citizens of all countries
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) earned in 2017 or later
- Applicants completing their undergraduate degree in 2025 may apply, provided the degree is conferred before enrollment
- If you have already earned a graduate degree, you remain eligible as long as your first bachelor’s was completed in 2017 or after
- English proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) may be required unless you graduated from an institution where English is the only language of instruction

- Standard graduate degree program application at Stanford

- Create an account on the Knight-Hennessy application portal
- Prepare the required documents: personal statement, resume, two recommendation letters, video (optional), and transcripts
- Submit separate applications to both the Knight-Hennessy program and your intended graduate program at Stanford
