Position: Reconciliation Officer
Qualifications
- B.A Degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, or other Business-related fields
- 4 years of banking experience
- At least 2 years as Junior Accounts & Reconciliation Officer
Job Objective
The Reconciliation Officer oversees and manages the Bank’s accounting and reconciliation functions, ensuring:
- Accurate bookkeeping and ledger maintenance
- Regulatory compliance and reporting to the National Bank of Ethiopia
- Timely financial reporting to management
- Smooth audit facilitation and payment approvals
- Support to the Bank’s digital transformation initiatives
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain accounting records and documents
- Ensure proper bookkeeping, taxation, and inventory control
- Process outward and inward RTGS transactions
- Follow up incoming cheques at the National Bank
- Prepare reconciliation reports
- Clear suspense accounts on time
- Coordinate external audits and prepare financial documents
- Open and manage General Ledgers and Subsidiary accounts
- Consolidate Income & Expense and Balance Sheet reports
- Record and depreciate fixed assets according to government regulations
- Prepare periodic activity reports
