Position Summary: Safety Lead
United Beverages S.C. is seeking an experienced and motivated Safety Lead to oversee and implement workplace health and safety programs at our manufacturing facility in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the company’s safety culture, developing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in multinational or compliance-driven environments implementing safety systems and tools.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, and corrective/preventive action planning.
- Experience delivering safety training and facilitating job safety observations.
- Strong understanding of internal audits, incident root cause analysis, and developing safe work procedures.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional engagement and promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Passionate, proactive, and eager to innovate in safety systems and training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of workplace safety programs, policies, and culture.
- Conduct routine risk assessments, safety inspections, and safety training sessions.
- Collaborate with all departments to promote awareness and adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Monitor regulatory compliance and initiate continuous improvement actions.
- Design and deliver training modules and toolbox talks at all operational levels.
- Investigate workplace incidents and drive effective corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
