Job Description

Pulse TechSoftware Design Development & Implementation in partnership with Emerald Education, Research, and Consultancy Services PLC is hiring 44 Data Enumerators across 8 Ethiopian regions to support a field research study on digital health cost-effectiveness (DHIS2 and eCHIS evaluation).

This study will inform the Ministry of Health on how to optimize digital health strategies by assessing economic impact, scalability, and sustainability.

• Qualitative Data Enumerators
• Quantitative Data Enumerators

Regional Quotas:

• Addis Ababa: 3
• Amhara: 10
• Benishangul Gumuz: 3
• Harari: 2
• Oromia: 16
• Sidama: 2
• Central Ethiopia: 2
• Somali: 6

Duration:

12 days of field-based data collection

Responsibilities:

• Conduct interviews and surveys using standardized tools
• Travel to assigned regions and engage local communities
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical research conduct
• Use digital data collection platforms (ODK, KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO)
• Report progress to supervisors daily or weekly
• Transcribe and translate qualitative data if required
• Clean, verify, and submit collected data
• Represent the research professionally in the field

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Nursing, Statistics, or related field
• At least 3 years of field data collection experience in health-related or public health research
• Experience with DHIS2 or eCHIS systems
• Proficient in at least one local language of the assigned region
• Familiarity with community health systems (HEWs, HMIS officers)
• Demonstrated understanding of research ethics and data confidentiality

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Independent work ethic and teamwork ability
• Tech-savvy with experience in digital tools
• Flexibility for regional travel and field visits
• For qualitative roles: Ability to transcribe and translate interviews and FGDs
