Position Overview
The Paramedic Emergency Nurse will provide high-quality, compassionate emergency and primary health care to UN staff and eligible dependents at WFP’s EMAT Clinic in Gode. This role includes routine care, emergency response, health promotion, and operational support for mobile missions and field deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic and advanced life support services
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and perform triage and wound care
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately
- Manage readiness of emergency and first-aid equipment
- Coordinate evacuations and ambulance services
- Support public health campaigns, vaccinations, and IPC protocols
- Participate in wellness, hygiene promotion, and surveillance
- Contribute to medical logistics and reporting
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Paramedical Sciences
- Certification as a Paramedic or EMT is an advantage
- Valid license to practice nursing or paramedicine
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience
- Emergency or pre-hospital care experience preferred
- Experience in humanitarian, international, or UN settings is desirable
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong clinical and emergency care knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Cultural sensitivity and teamwork orientation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in written and spoken English and local language
