The National ID Program Ethiopia is leading Ethiopia’s national digital identification initiative, providing secure, real-time biometric authentication and eKYC solutions across sectors. The program supports inclusive service delivery, financial access, and digital transformation efforts nationwide.

Position: Call for Legal Interns

The National ID Program is seeking three (3) motivated and talented Legal Interns to join its team on a voluntary basis. This internship offers hands-on experience in digital identity systems, data protection, and public policy while contributing to Ethiopia’s national development initiatives.

Requirements

  • LLB Degree in Law
  • Strong analytical and legal writing skills
  • Interest in digital identity, data protection, and public policy
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment
  • Commitment to volunteer work for the duration of the internship

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on digital identity and data protection frameworks
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing agreements, NDAs, and policy documents
  • Participate in workshops, stakeholder consultations, and project discussions
  • Support documentation, reporting, and knowledge-sharing within the legal and policy team
